JAN EWOUD VOS

Over a period of 22 years (from 1997 till 2019) I have tried to capture beauty in its most simple and essential form.

The pure and often melancholic part of
beauty has always attracted me, because it can never be fully understood and borders
on the mysterious and sacred.

Over the years I shot and composed over

hundred thousand of images and sometimes two images seem to ‘connect’. By harmony
or contrast. These connecting images I refer
to as ‘Moodpairs’. As a pair they express
a certain mood or feeling better than each
of them alone and often there is a cinematic

quality to them.

Soon I will publish a selection of moodpairs in a series of 4 photobooks; a photo collection that values spirituality over materialism and purity over adulteration.
